Gestational Factors in Mother – Infant Bonding Impairment Among Women With High Risk Pregnancies

Aims The present study aimed to maternal bonding impairment among postpartum women at 6–8 weeks postpartum. We compared the severity of with high and low risk pregnancies. also explored gestational factors related in these women. Methods Hundred six – eight postpartum, without any significant physical or mental illness, were assessed for failure using Postpartum Bonding questionnaire. Their antenatal postnatal records reviewed determine various subsequently classify them as Unpaired t test multiple regression analysis used appropriate statistical analysis. Results 7% mothers had their infants. most prevalent type was infant focused anxiety (1%) incipient abuse (1%). Maternal (d = 0.74) rejection 0.45) significantly higher pregnancies (P < 0.01). Not having a term delivery factor associated impaired (β - 0.26, P 0.02). Other model BMI, mode delivery, an emergency caesarean section, presence congenital malformations baby history NICU admission. Overall adjusted R-squared (0.07), indicating only variation can be accounted by model. Conclusion Women have chances bond Preterm / post is important factor.
